We are a group of artists from Skye, Lochalsh and Lochcarron who have come together to form The Bridge Art Collective. We share a passion for making art which is thoughtful, deeply felt and rooted in this region. We also share a strong dedication to the diverse media in which we work: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and printmaking. We believe that art can transform lives and enrich our sense of community.

We chose the word 'Bridge' as it encompasses our over-arching aims: to bring together artists from both sides of the Skye Bridge; to form links between artists just setting out on their careers and more established artists; and to form a bridge between artists and the wider community.

What makes The Bridge Art Collective different is that we are not squarely aiming ourselves at the tourist market, but giving our artists scope to explore and experiment within their practice. We believe there is a real need for a forum in Skye and Lochalsh for showing innovative, interesting art, which is created through personal vision.

At this stage we are exhibiting through 'pop-up' exhibitions and exploring other ways to show our work as widely as possible. In addition we will run workshops, talks and other activities for children and adults. We will also invite 'guest artists' to join us from time to time. We would like the art we make to contribute to the well-being of our fellow citizens and celebrate the beautiful area in which we live.
