Ordinarily I work with metal under extreme temperatures to create large and small sculptures. In order to be able to do this because of the toxic fumes I am covered from head to toe in PPE so it's not unusual for me in that sense to see the public and the NHS doing the same. The work you see here is based around my love for observing and making insects and the theme of fake news. 'What can we believe any more?'. The typeface is from a contemporary broadsheet and is laid on a vintage magazine with the fake news beetle. I have chosen the beetle as they have been around since the dawn of time and will be here long after we have departed as a species. Fake news has always been with us in the form of propaganda, tabloid press, in the halls of power and now proliferated by social media on this poisoned planet.
