For this exhibition I have submitted paintings that give me the space to experiment with the three elements that fascinate me: Colour, texture, and form. It is never easy. Abstract art creates its own internal strictures. In my case the challenge has been to structure colour and texture into geometric shapes whose loose and imperfect execution allows for both spontaneity and deliberation. Ultimately, I hope to produce abstract artworks that are intriguing, balanced, and pleasing to the eye. Moments of escape, perhaps, from the heavy isolation imposed on us by the virus.
